We sadly announce the recent passing of one of our Three Stooges family members, Eric Lamond. Eric was the oldest of Larry Fine’s five grandchildren. He loved and admired his Grandpa Larry and treasured The Three Stooges as the greatest comedy trio ever. Eric was a child actor and grew up with The Three Stooges. He often attended their shows and spent family time with his grandpa, and the other stooges. Eric also appeared in some of The Three Stooges films, commercials, and cartoons. He was one of their biggest fans and could spend hours recounting wonderful stories and memories about The Three Stooges. Eric came from an entertainment family. While Larry started out on the vaudeville stage in the 1920’s, his wife Mabel and her family also worked the Vaudeville circuit. Larry and Mabel’s son, Don Lamond, Eric’s father, became a successful television and radio host for The Three Stooges comedy show, and appeared in various Three Stooges films.
Eric received Journalism and English degrees from the University of California and studied at the University of Vichy in France. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. After his service, he worked in the Finance and Insurance industries, but his heart was always with The Three Stooges. With the continued popularity of The Three Stooges after their deaths, Eric joined The Three Stooges company, C3 Entertainment, Inc., in 2002. For the next two decades, Eric dedicated himself to helping promote and preserve the legacy of The Three Stooges. As a Vice President and member of the C3 Board of Directors, he worked on marketing and promoting The Three Stooges brand, as well as thousands of Three Stooges licensed products and services all over the world. We are forever grateful for his contributions in preserving the heritage of The Three Stooges.
Eric is survived by his loving sister Kris, and his two sons, Don, and Kurt. He will be laid to rest in Denver, Colorado with his late wife, June. We say goodbye to our dear friend and colleague and pray that he is with his Grandpa Larry and the other stooges as they romp through heaven.
